Throwing out a disclaimer before my review, I’m not as in love with SHE-HULK as my colleagues. It’s a light-hearted affair that tries to be a superhero version of ALLY MCBEAL, yet it’s not as quirky or funny to swing for the fences like that adored David E. Kelly series. And, to clarify, I don’t think that SHE-HULK is an “Abomination,” but it’s also not must-see TV like MOON KNIGHT or MS. MARVEL… yet.
What I enjoy about SHE-HULK is how fast-paced it is. This show focuses on fun one-off cameos connecting the “A and B story.” And this week’s fan favorite should have audiences pleasantly surprised.
After a solid premiere and two so-so episodes, I’m curious to see where the creators take “the big green woman” next. But, it’s excellent seeing Jennifer Walters (Tatiana Maslany) grab ahold of her narrative. And, I have my 🤞 that the show figures out that her narrative can be more than an episodic cameo-driven series.
It’s available on Disney+.
