RICK AND MORTY S7E4 THAT’S AMORTE 🤩

Right when I was about to throw in the towel, RICK AND MORTY came back blazing with the most shocking and emotionally driven episode of the season. I knew that something was going to be offensive when there was a warning about suicide prevention before the episode started, but I didn’t realize it would be this dark.

While the main course might be spaghetti, the bittersweet dessert is one brilliant “Live Forever” montage. The two minutes are what we’ve come to love about RICK AND MORTY and the reason that, after all these years, fans keep tuning in.

Some of my favorite quotes this week:

  • “I am a skull emoji, but words.”
  • “Have we thought about just giving up and joining the fascist part of the country? They get to do more!”
  • “Wall-to-wall reality TV. And not the good kind. It’s like their entire planet was bought by Discovery.”

If the show continues to do genre-spoofing emotional episodes like THAT’S AMORTE, the series should continue to “Live Forever” in fans’ hearts. Thank you, RICK AND MORTY, for forever ruining spaghetti and my appetite for the next few days.

It’s available to watch while not eating on Adult Swim.
