RESERVATION DOGS continues to disguise itself as a show about nothing, but it’s about everything that makes life worth living. You know it’s time to tune in when we get an episode focusing on Cheese (Lane Factor), and E6 does just that.
The community elders pull Cheese away from his virtual addiction to spend a day/night in nature. This simple premise is a cathartic release for all the characters as they explore the bonds of friendship.
The authentic writing and performances make this simple concept work so well. The entire group, Brownie (Gary Farmer), Bucky (Wes Studi), and Big (Zahn McClarnon), come full circle from last week’s HOUSE OF BONGS with their character arcs. It felt like this was the closing chapter for Cheese, and I’m 100% okay with how his story ends.
I’ve repeatedly preached that it’s a miracle this small TV show is even getting made and that everyone should be watching it. If you haven’t done so yet, this is another addition that will likely get award buzz and proves that the cast of RESERVATION DOGS are no longer the “underdogs” for fantastic television.
It’s available on Hulu FX.
