OUR LITTLE SECRET ๐Ÿ˜Š

Kristen Chenoweth and Lindsay Lohan. Iโ€™m not sure much else needs to be said. But for reviewโ€™s sake, OUR LITTLE SECRET works as a wonderful comedy of manners, and while it might not be heartwarming or moving or even remotely sincere, it sure is funny.

When it comes to Christmas movies, what really matters โ€” the heartstrings or the humor? I say humor, and whether or not the film is self-aware about its silliness, the entertainment value is strong.

The follies littered throughout, although unoriginal, are made wildly entertaining by the Chenoweth-Lohan dynamic, facing off as a Jocastan mother and a desperate-to-appease daughter. And where Lohan and love interest Ian Hardingโ€™s chemistry is practically nonexistent, Chenowethโ€™s snark and Lohanโ€™s wit ping-pong off each other perfectly, energizing the film and making each scene worthwhile.

To postface, OUR LITTLE SECRET is NOT a cinematic masterpiece; if you are looking for some sizzling chemistry or a sweeping romance, this is not the film for you.

By certain parameters, Esta Rosevearโ€™s previous review, labeling this an โ€œExperience Neverโ€ makes perfect sense. But, while it may not have set out to be one, the film satisfies every requirement of a kitschy, C-rated Christmas rom-com (aka a must-watch for the holiday season).
