OH. WHAT. FUN. It should have been better. It has a fantastic cast and a familiar holiday story. In the end, it was just a meh with a quick solve at the conclusion. Oh, if it were only that easy in real life.Â
Michelle Pfeiffer, Denise Leary, Felicity Jones, Chloe Grace Moretz, and Eva Longoria deserved better. The writers just didn’t take the theme quite far enough. It was visually lovely, though, if that is any consolation.Â
The writing was inconsistent. I wasn’t sure about the characters and their backstories. There were too many holes that were never filled in. This would have strengthened the ending, especially since there was too much character vacillation throughout the film. I wanted more, so I could feel more and care.Â
OH. WHAT. FUN. wasn’t much fun at all, and not worth your time. What a shame. Should have been …could have been.Â
