OH. WHAT. FUN. Should have, could have been better. It has an amazing cast and a familiar holiday story to share. In the end, it was just a meh with a quick solve at the conclusion. Oh, if it was only that easy in real life.
Michelle Pfeiffer, Denise Leary, Felicity Jones, Chloe Grace Moretz, and Eva Longoria deserved better. The writers just didn’t take the theme quite far enough. It was visually lovely though if that is any consolation.
The writing was inconsistent. I wasn’t sure about the characters and their backstories. There were too many holes that were never filled in. This would have made the ending stronger, especially since there was too much character vacillation throughout the entire film. I wanted more so could feel more and care.
OH. WHAT. FUN. wasn’t much fun at all, and not worth your time. What a shame. Should have been …could have been. It is streaming on Amazon Prime.Â
