MR. MONK’S LAST CASE: THE MOVIE 🤩

MR. MONK’S LAST CASE: A MONK MOVIE was a trip down memory lane with an old friend. Warm, heart-felt moments with the entire original ensemble made this film perfect in every way.

Adrian Monk (Tony Shalhoub) is a master detective. Whoa unto you if he is on your trail. Criminals don’t stand a chance. Adrian is a flawed, neurotic character who is beloved despite himself. The writers took great care not to become too nostalgic and heavy-handed in reuniting everyone. The mystery that needed to be solved was compelling and filled with tears, sadness, and many precious scenes of laughter and sarcastic fun. The best scenes had to be the bartending sequence and eating during COVID-19. All of this was entwined with very dark moments surrounding Monk. His sessions with his therapist, played by Hector Elizondo, were priceless. The final scene brought tears to my eyes. It was such a great pay-off to a sweet series. During the final credits, the writers hinted at a possible surprise future with an adorable sidekick. I have my fingers crossed.

MR. MONK’S LAST CASE: A MONK MOVIE poked humorous holes in the “here’s what happened” segment. It reinforced Monk’s brilliant ability to solve 140 homicide cases week after week.
