MATLOCK S1E2 ROME IN A DAY 🤩

“Rome, in a Day” – As Matty settles into her new role at Jacobson Moore, Olympia and the aptly nicknamed “Team You Three” (Matty, Billy and Sarah) take on a lawsuit involving a developmentally delayed teenager whose family claims he’s been wrongly accused of murder. Also, Olympia and Julian disagree on a parenting matter, on MATLOCK, Thursday, Oct. 17 (9:00-10:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network, and streaming on Paramount+ (live and on demand for Paramount+ with SHOWTIME subscribers, or on demand for Paramount+ Essential subscribers the day after the episode airs)*. I said I was only going to review the pilot for the new MATLOCK series. I lied. Kathy Bates as Matty MATLOCK is too perfect. The show recently aired its second episode, and if viewers are fans of courtroom dramas, solving cases, and being surrounded by a consummate, empathetic actress, then this story is just for you.

Again, I won’t spoil the strong subplot that drives Matty back into the workforce at her age, but take it from me—it is a doozy. The entire ensemble is excellently cast. Quick banter and fast pacing are the keys to keeping it all moving forward, yet I love the moments of watching Mattie’s deep family relationships. Bates’s vulnerability, confidence, and flaws give MATLOCK its 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. I concur.

MATLOCK is streaming on CBS and PARAMOUNT. What are you waiting for?
