MATLOCK S1E1 PILOT 🤩

MATLOCK got my attention. Recently, I watched the pilot episode of this reimagined series based on the original Andy Griffith hit from 1986-95. I was pleasantly surprised and intrigued. Kathy Bates’s fresh, new approach to crime drama may lead to a successful run.

MATLOCK has a unique approach, which I will not spoil. This is why I felt compelled to write this review. Viewers will think they know Madeline MATLOCK, but just hold onto your hats… you have been forewarned. Bates asked for secrecy, and I will comply. I can tell audiences she is spellbinding in her role. She is a phenomenal actress. The ensemble is also wonderful and includes Beau Bridges and Skye P. Marshall.  Pacing is fast and fun, even while solving criminal cases.

MATLOCK is a must-see TV so far. I hope the entire season keeps up this level of excellence.

The second installment airs on October 17th, streaming on CBS and PARAMOUNT.
