Thereโs a reason everyone is talking about the series MATLOCK. Kathy Bates. She is an outstanding actress and truly delivers a stellar, believable portrayal episode after episode asย ย Maddie MATLOCK. The problem is that the show, although very fine, does not live up to the Bateโs stature. She is in a class all her own, and it is impossible to camouflage her brilliance.ย
This doesn’t mean the series isn’t worthy of your time. It contained a well-developed, thoughtful plot that was strong and entertaining. It ended with two huge cliffhangers that beg for deeper storytelling next year. It offered two unique avenues to explore, and with Bates at the helm, I’m sure there will be many exciting and memorable moments.ย
MATLOCK always says, โFollow the money.โ I agree, but I must addโฆfollow Kathy Bates. She makes women of a certain age visible once again.ย
