LONELY PLANET is a predictable, slow-paced rom-com with insipid dialogue and an age gap of massive proportions. Yes, as Katharine, Laura Dern still maintains her quirky beauty, but putting her next to Owen (one of the many Hemsworth brothers) and the years become apparent.
I was intrigued at first because NETFLIX listed LONELY PLANET as their number two pick of the week. I really would like to know who is voting and demand a recount. It’s a shame I can’t also demand my time and money back.
The film did offer lovely location shots in Morocco. In retrospect, it was more about finding yourself no matter how many years have passed. The romance part was an extra perk if anyone can call it that.
LONELY PLANET is not worth your time or emotional investment. It was very disappointing, no matter how hunky Liam Hemsworth is without wearing a shirt.
