LADY IN THE LAKE S1E4 INNOCENCE LEAVES YOU WHEN YOU DISCOVER CRUELTY FIRST IN OTHERS, THEN IN YOURSELF ๐Ÿ˜Š

LADY IN THE LAKE was all about connections from our past and new ones that constantly change due to daily circumstances. The episode filled in several blanks and pushed audiences further down this path of destruction and death.

Yes, I get it. โ€œWe all fall sometimes,โ€ but quite frankly, the two leading ladies are doomed. Their only redeeming quality is, of course, their brilliant acting skills. Natalie Portman and Moses Ingram are excellent in their portrayals of Maddie and Cleo. My heart breaks for them โ€œbetting on the wrong dream.โ€  Life can be cruel and unfair at times. Their performances ensure viewers feel every rut and pothole along their tenuous journey.

This series still moves at its own pace. The creativity is there, but it requires patience. The shadowy cinematography constantly illuminates the seediness of the times. I think it is becoming an acquired taste for entertainment. It would not be my first choice, but it has its particular niche.

I hope LADY IN THE LAKE will pay off in the end, but I am not putting any money on that possibility, no matter how many inside tips are offered.

It is streaming on Apple TV+.
