JERRY SPRINGER: FIGHT, CAMERA, ACTION is a two-episode, limited documentary series that transports viewers back to when the iconic THE JERRY SPRINGER SHOW started and how it became “TV gold trash.” The film is told more from the point of view of the Creator/ Executive Producer, Richard Dominick, and Associate Producer, Tobias Yoshimura. It features dangerous, violent, abusive, controversial, and hard-to-believe subject matter that, during its peak, knocked OPRAH off the top of the daytime ratings war battle.
Both producers were brutally honest about the past. Springer became popular with the public because he was a smart, savvy, nonjudgemental host who didn’t argue with the content being highlighted. Some say he became more important and a cultural phenomenon just because the audience was trained to chant his name. People got physically injured during each episode. Everyone screamed, cussed, and punched. It was shock TV, and millions loved every minute of airtime.
The documentary shared all its vile history through interviews and clips. There was no holding back. I remember tuning in to watch this show from time to time. It was simply shocking and hard to believe it was real. Eventually, it lost its appeal, but not before it made Springer filthy rich.
JERRY SPRINGER: FIGHTS, CAMERA, ACTION is not for the weak of heart. Be forewarned… it could transport viewers deep within an anxiety attack and create a giant pit at the bottom of your stomach.
It is streaming on NETFLIX.
