INVINCIBLE S3 proves the series has more to say about the burden of being a superhero and its effects on the people you love. It soars on the relationship built between Mark and Eve and crashes when it spends too much time focused on the B storylines. Yet, the heartfelt relationship between the two leads far outweighs any of the Angstrom subplots.
“You can be the good guy. Or you can save the world. You can’t be both.” This question is repeated throughout S3, and it’s at the heart of the choice that Mark Grayson will have to make. It’s further complicated by his relationship with his half-brother, Oliver. Not since Christopher Nolan’s BATMAN have we seen a protagonist in such a compelling fashion try to make sense of a world gone mad and how mad he’ll have to go to save it.
For the first time since S1, the outcomes of this show have real consequences. Those effects will be felt in S4. Here’s to Robert Kirkman delivering it on time in 2026. 🤞
The entire 3rd season is available to stream on Prime Video.
