This week’s episode takes a step back from the bloody action. The plot instead focuses on Mark’s new relationship with his girlfriend and Nolan’s atrocious acts from the premiere. Even though it’s a quieter outing for INVINCIBLE, we still get an out-of-this-world alien subplot that is sure to play out over the rest of the season.

I love this show. Even when it’s not at its best, it’s still trying to explore real human emotions through a violent cartoon. Nolan’s internal turmoil is on full display as he’s torn between the love for his family and his allegiance to the planet, Viltrum. Mark also grapples with the classic superhero trope, should he tell his new girlfriend his identity or keep it a secret to protect her.

The next #InvincibleFriday can’t come soon enough on Prime Video!
