Most young people assume that when someone has lived to be in their 50s, 60s, or even 70s, they will have their shit together and know what they do or don’t want to do. Not true. Aging does not mean a person has achieved wisdom.ย ย It’s sad to say that some never get even close. This is the premise behind the film, IโLL BE RIGHT THERE. Moms, dads, grandparents, friends, sons, and daughters are merely doing the best they can with what they know or think they know at any given time. It is still a wonder how most of us survive every day. Reaching those higher birthday numbers can bring acceptance, which is the biggest prize.ย
The writers set out to annoy audiences with the creation of Wanda (Edie Falco). The story is subtle and deftly woven among a skillful ensemble that includes Bradley Whitfield, Ed Norton, Jeannie Berlin, and Kayli Carter. It will make viewers smile when hearing the sarcastic family conversations. These moments are tricky to get them right, but with Falco leading the gang, it was honest and authentic. Wandaโs journey was fascinating and, at times, almost too realistic due to the dozens of potholes along the way.ย
IโLL BE RIGHT THERE is well done and entertaining. It invites people of all ages to hold that mirror up and rake a truthful picture of the good and the bad.
It is streaming on PEACOCK.ย
