HURRY UP TOMORROW is a new film directed by Trey Edward Shults (IT COMES AT NIGHT) and co-written by Shults, Abel Tesfaye AKA The Weeknd, and Reza Fahim. It stars Tesfaye as himself, or a version of himself, with Barry Keoghan and Jenna Ortega in supporting roles. Below are my voice notes after seeing an early film screening last night. I’ve decided that this film doesn’t warrant any more of my time, so I leave my review in this format. But I do promise, the music is great. If you’re the biggest fan of The Weeknd, perhaps that’s enough for you to enjoy this mess.

Abel Tesfaye is a huge talent, but this ain’t it.

HURRY UP TOMORROW makes me want to listen to The Weeknd more and avoid any film or TV show he’s involved in again.Â
