HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL: THE MUSICAL SERIES S2E6 YES, AND… ๐Ÿ˜Š

This week, the gang from HSM performs improv training. I want to say this episode is excellent, followed by “yes and” reasons why, but it’s just not living up to the musical standards previously set.

In one scene, Gina (Sofia Wylie) tells Ashlyn (Julia Lester), “this isn’t a musical. You can’t sing and dance your way out of it.” As I heard this, I thought, wait a minute. That’s what this show is supposed to be; a musical. And therein is the problem with the inconsistency of HSM – we still need so much more music!

The reasons to watch this week are:
Julia Lester sings the pitch-perfect rendition of Susan Egan’s HOME from BEAUTY AND THE BEST.
Olivia Rodrigo tackles the thorny new song, ROSE, with a mesmerizing performance.
At one point this week, Nini quotes Nicolas Cage in NATIONAL TREASURE, stating – “The crazy ideas always work.” Here’s to some crazy new ideas injecting life into this stale season.

It’s available on Disney+.
