GOOD COP/BAD COP is a quirky and fun procedural drama that features a solve of a homicide each episode. The series centers around a sister-brother detective team who work for their Police Chief father. It is amazing how many murders go down in a small Washington town. The writers make sure the stories contained humorous, sarcastic moments, as well as all the angst and blood to satisfy audiences.
Lou (Leighton Meester) and Henry (Luke Cook) appear very natural as siblings. Their constant bantering anchored the show with realistic family dynamics. Each has a ton of baggage to unload, which makes for interesting sub-plots. Their dad (Clancy Brown) adds the necessary bark as their boss. These characters grew on me and I found myself very entertained. In fact, I binged it. But then I have always been a “whodunnit” fan.
The season ended with a huge cliffhanger and a moral dilemma. I hope the show will be returning. GOOD COP/BAD COP is clever in its approach to catching the bad guy. It is refreshing to watch a brother-sister team clear the murder board together using their character traits to their advantage.
GOOD COP/BAD COP is now streaming on Amazon Prime Video.
