FROZEN: THE HIT BROADWAY MUSICAL 🤩

FROZEN: THE HIT BROADWAY MUSICAL is amazing to watch since it brings the best of Broadway directly into everyone’s living room. It is precisely what viewers would see if they had front-row seating. The show is spectacular. It’s like watching the movie version come to life. Yet, there is a double-edged sword in plain sight. Filmed theatre productions are not the same as live theatre, but it does come awfully close. Audiences simply need to let go of any preconceived notions and enjoy a fantastical moment.

First off, the set designs and technical aspects of FROZEN were extraordinary. A brilliant genius lay behind the icy formations, the ice castle, and the barricades. Kudos to everyone backstage. It was perfection. The theatre audience clapped each time the set turned colder, twinklier, and icier. Dumping snow on the audience drew the entire theatre together as one.

The costumes were dazzling and stunning. Larger-than-life, split-second changes and colors will leave images forever etched deep within your mind. Hair and make-up were glorious. Changing hair color isn’t as easy as it looks. Well-done.

I must give a shout-out to the two leading ladies, Elsa (Samantha Barks) and Anna (Laura Dawkes). Their voices were outstanding and brought every emotion necessary to the surface. LET IT GO was sung with such gusto, sensitivity, power, strength, and clarity. It was breathtaking. DO YOU WANT TO BUILD A SNOWMAN? was a delight. Her comedic timing was astounding and easy to accept. The magical use of puppetry added another layer of wonder to a fantasy world. I adored Olaf and the man (Craig Gallivan) who brought him to life. His vocal range and comic relief were perfection. I totally believed Olaf was real, and that is huge to be able to suspend that much disbelief. Excellent performances gave FROZEN its heart and soul.

FROZEN: THE HIT BROADWAY MUSICAL was simply fabulous. It deserves to be seen on Broadway, but if that’s not possible, don’t miss this remarkable production. Besides, singing along out loud will be much easier to pull off in the comfort of your own home while wearing PJs.

This filmed version is available to stream on Disney+.
