FALLING FOR FIGARO 😊

FALLING FOR FIGARO was an unexpected and happy discovery, but only if you are into opera. If your answer is yes, then this comedy, drama, sort-of rom-com will be a delight.

I was extraordinarily amazed by Danielle Macdonald who portrayed Millie, the wannabe opera singer. (I recently watched her in THE TOURIST.) This actress has pipes! She shared all the emotional highs and lows of her dream journey. Another treat was listening to Hugh Skinner as Max sing a powerful rendition of the infamous Figaro solo. WOW is all I can say, but then all the operatic voices in the Scottish competition were memorable and entertaining. Joanna Lumley as the retired, diva, opera teacher was a hoot. Fair warning…never stick your tongue out to her. She’s relentless.

FALLING FOR FIGARO was not as predictable as I anticipated. It was inspiring for all those who covet a secret aspiration, and the lesson learned is…it is never too late to give it a go.

FALLING FOR FIGARO is streaming on Netflix.
