ENTERGALACTIC ๐Ÿ˜Š

I went into the Kid Cudi animated film ENTERGALACTIC with zero expectations. While a cliched rom-com script keeps it from soaring out of this world, it has enough to turn most audiences into fans of “Mr. Rager.”

The plot of a boy meets a girl, who’s also his next-door neighbor, is straight out of any romantic playbook. However, the actors that portray these animated characters feel real and lived in, especially Jessica Williams as the next-door neighbor, Meadow. Watching the animated visuals of Jabari (Kid Cudi) and her fall in love is music to anyone’s ears (and eyes).

Towards the film’s end, a character tells Jabari, “Love is the easiest thing in the world when it happens by accident, but it doesn’t get real until you do it on purpose.” That profound lesson could’ve made a much different film that would’ve made ENTERGALACTIC a classic. Hopefully, this musical film event is successful, so Kid Cudi can explore that theme in a future sequel to this good, not great, film.

It’s available on Netflix.
