DUNE: PROPHECY S1E2 TWO WOLVES 🤮

It pains me to say it, but the second episode of DUNE: PROPHECY not only failed as an installment of the series but also continues to detract from the recent legacy of Denis Villeneuve’s DUNE. That being said, I’m still hopeful. The Bene Geserit are one of the most interesting groups in this universe, and PROPHECY has introduced compelling characters, including Valya (Emily Watson) and Tula Harkonnen (Olivia Williams).

I know we’re only two episodes in, but I have no clue where the story is heading, which characters to care about and ultimately why to continue watching. I’m alright with a slow burn, but so far, DUNE: PROPHECY feels like a slow simmer, and nothing’s worse than watching a pot of water boil.

Yet, the show is well-acted and visually enticing, and that’s enough for me to return next week. For what it’s worth, we had watch parties for the first two episodes, and no one texted about where to watch the third. Either I’m being excluded or others are feeling the way I am (not too excited about either option). In any case, DUNE: PROPHECY is available to stream on Max.
