DOG ๐Ÿ˜Š

I am a sucker for animal films, and I can honestly say DOG does not disappoint. It is a story about friendship, post-war trauma, redemption, acceptance,ย and love.ย ย

Jackson (Channing Tatum), and Lulu, a Belgian Malinois dog, are both former Rangers and are traveling a road trip for their lives. They just donโ€™t realize how much is at stake. I loved the constant dialogueย between the two. They learned the art of communication through mistake after mistake. Neither were prepared for this adventure. It was rough to watch at times, but you knew both their heartsย were in the right place.ย

Lulu could tear down any barrier with her amazing eyes, facial expressions, teeth, and jaw. The viewers were in for a ride every time she jumped out of the vehicle. My heart broke for what traumas we put these dogs through. DOG is a testament to the horror of PTSD for humans and animals. What is the answer to this problem when their service is no longer needed?ย

DOGย surprised me. I enjoyed this movie more than I thought I would while silently knowing the predictable outcome. It was the partnership between Jackson and Lulu that made it all work so well with humor, empathy, and hope (And Lulu is a natural actor!).

DOG is available to stream on AMAZON PRIME.
