I cannot believe that CURB premiered in 2000. That’s twenty-four years that Larry David has been doing his neurotic bit on HBO. I’m thankful that despite the series being about a 70-something-year-old man, it remains relevant with current references to fat shaming, butt dialing, Siri mishaps, and even Atlanta’s voting system.
The season twelve premiere picks up right where things left off at the end of season eleven. Seeing last season’s newcomers Tracey Ullman and Keyla Monterroso Mejia (Maria) return is exciting. And both of them kill it in the premiere.
It’s clear that Larry David “hates people, but he has to be among them.” Yet, audiences are lucky that his hateful observations of people are hilarious enough to keep us watching after all these years. I cannot wait for Larry “peanut-head” David continue to fail to be “cordial” in the latest season.
It’s available on Max.
