CURB YOUR ENTHUSIASM continues to get a “tightening, and a lift” as E9 is one of the funniest of the season. Not only does this episode have a slew of memorable quotes (“If I were a ghost, why wouldn’t I haunt?”), but it also has the best cameo in S11 with Bill Hader playing all three of the title episode characters – Igor, Gregor, & Timor. And the results are so “splendid” that you might just say “splendid” twice a day.
The wild goose chase that Jeff Garlin and Larry David go on in this episode is a perfect setup for them to do what they do best, complain. They are trying to find a discounted vase (or is it vahz?) for Jeff’s wife, Susie. The results have them encounter three possible brothers played by Bill Hader. The lesson the audience learns, outside of the hotel concierge job is very important, is that if you make an insincere gesture, people might just accept it.
CURB has racked up a lot of highway miles over the last eleven seasons. Luckily for the audience, they weren’t bad miles. Oh, and “fun fact,” I disagree with Larry. I don’t want to be disrupted when I’m resting or sleeping.
The latest episode is available on HBO Max.
