Eleven seasons and 100 plus episodes later, Larry David’s CURB YOUR ENTHUSIASM is still “pretty, pretty good.” The comedy shenanigans are back with everyone’s favorite “bad guy.” From jokes about Trump ruining it for all Don Jrs, dementia, and a plot revolving around a COVID hoarder – this show still makes for the best awkward situational comedy.
Audiences either love or hate Larry David. He’s an acquired taste. He reminds me of the best SEINFELD, as it’s a show about nothing with a lot of witty observational things to say. It’s also hilarious seeing Albert Brooks back on TV. And the episode revolves around his funeral, even though he’s alive. Why? Because he wants to hear everyone say nice things about him while still above ground. He thinks this will catch on, while Larry is not so sure.
While I smiled a lot in THE FIVE-FOOT FENCE, I didn’t ๐ as much as I usually do in a CURB episode. It felt like this was a warm-up for a hilarious eleventh season to come. One thing is for sure, if you have Larry David in your life, don’t live in a glasshouse. He may just end up “tapping your door.”
It’s available on HBO Max.
