CHUCKY S2E4 DEATH ON DENIAL 🤩

CHUCKY has jumped the shark, and I’m loving every second of it. The episode takes a campy (well…campier) turn as an Agatha Christie-esque whodunnit murder mystery surrounding Tiffany (pretending to be Jennifer Tilly) and a slew of surprise house guests, including her non-binary twins, Glen & Glenda, Tilly’s real-life sister Meg, former Celebrity Poker Showdown players, and BOUND costar Gina Gershon (in on a running joke from SEED OF CHUCKY).

This is exactly what I wanted for an official introduction to Glen & Glenda (Lachlan Watson), returning from their ridiculous conception in SEED OF CHUCKY. The show’s ability to maintain the franchise’s batty plotlines while driving the story forward is incredibly impressive. Don Mancini clearly loves his creation and, for some reason, has been given free rein to do whatever he wants with it on TV—and it works so well.

I’m continuously impressed with Fiona Dourif’s (daughter of the voice of Chucky Brad Dourif) impression of her father’s voice work as Chucky. She emulates his vocal dynamics and mannerisms with absolute perfection—the series might not work without her presence.

The series is a hit, with Universal Studios Halloween Horror Nights already announcing that next year they’ll be featuring a CHUCKY haunted attraction, which I can only assume means we can anticipate yet another season of the murderous doll and his antics come next Halloween season.

CHUCKY is available to watch on SyFy. (I watch on SlingTV because I’m a millennial without cable.)
