BLUE MIRACLE is based upon a true story about Papa Omar (Jimmy Gonzalez) a financially struggling do-gooder who created Casa Hogar for orphans in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. It is a film with great intentions, yet not quite meeting expectations.
Dennis Quaid (Captain) enters the scene and gets Omar and a couple of his teenage resident orphans to co-enter the Bisbee Fishing Tournament. Prize money would be enough to save Casa Hogar and give the Captain back some of his lost self-esteem, but first they have three days to catch the biggest blue marlin. It will take a miracle.
The plot line is predictable. There are few surprises. The scenery is gorgeous. The fishing is exciting. All of this is fine for 90 minutes of simple entertainment.
BLUE MIRACLE is a feel good movie. It makes you think there can be self redeeming qualities in people. It is a movie you can watch with your family and find balance in the universe. It is available to stream on Netflix
