BACK TO THE FRONTIER was a colossal disappointment. It had a great premise, but failed to carry it out creatively. There was no payoff in the end, even after eight episodes. It was repetitive, slow-moving, and for the most part, not entertaining. I was surprised since Chip and Joanna Gaines were Executive Producers.Â
It was supposed to be a competition between three families who decided to live on separate farmland for three months. The catch? It was 1880. They had to survive and accomplish three extremely hard tasks. Could have, would have, should have been exciting, but it really wasn’t. The narration was too cheesy for my taste.Â
BACK TO THE FRONTIER was an experiment for no apparent reason. Please don’t do it again. Once was enough.
