AUDREY’S CHILDREN 🤩

AUDREY’S CHILDREN is a heartbreaking and heart-warming true story that will inspire audiences. I watched this film knowing nothing about the plot or who Dr. Audrey Evans (Natalie Dormer) was in 1969. Her persistence and tenacity changed the way children with cancer are treated and how their families are cared for around the world. It is a fantastic story.

I would have missed this wonderful jewel had it not been for one of my former students, Stephen Burgi, letting me know he was in it. He portrayed one of the many stone-faced doctors Audrey had to argue against to convince this stoic group that her research was correct. She was on the cusp of new, creative discoveries. It was fascinating. I also love being a small part of Stephen’s acting journey. Woo hoo!

AUDREY’S CHILDREN was extremely well-written. It was tight, sharp, and authentic. It included many photos from real life during the closing credits. It even featured an encouraging moment with Dr. Evans sharing advice to parents of children battling cancer. It made me reach for a Kleenex while still feeling ever-so hopeful. Bravo.

AUDREY’S CHILDREN deserves to unfold for the audience’s entertainment without a single spoiler. It will provide several surprises of a life well-lived. How blessed her children were to cross her brilliant, caring path. This film is worthy of your time, attention, and remembering.

It is streaming on Peacock.
