This was a suicide mission. The radicalized jihadists were citizens of the U.K. This is what was so difficult to understand. They were not on anyone’s radar, yet two of them should have been. MI5, Prime Minister Tony Blair, and all the power of the police force couldn’t stop this from happening. Fifty-two people died, and over seven hundred were seriously wounded during these attacks on two trains and a bus. The entire city of London was in turmoil, in a state of high panic. It was chaos everywhere. Information was not released in an orderly fashion, and the different enforcement agencies were at odds with each other while searching for the truth. The clips of those who lived through this period were captivating and compelling. It was, in many ways, a true debacle of events. It was well-presented and smart in showing both sides to this investigation and its aftermath.
ATTACK ON LONDON: HUNTING THE 7/ 7 BOMBERS is a fascinating dive into a historical moment most people in the U.K. will never forget, nor should they. It is imperative that filmmakers continually probe the past so that society can move forward safely.
