AND JUST LIKE THAT…has really lost its funny touch. For years, whenever one of the girls was going through a serious situation or dealing with an intense issue, the writers always found a way to insert humorous dialogue or action in that minuscule space. This is not the case anymore. The show has become a serious soapbox, with not enough comic relief to sustain running gags. It’s not the same series, and it is pulling this reviewer down into the pits of despair.
Every problem out in the real world is being magnified on the small screen. It is exhausting. The “waiting game” is not camouflaged anymore. The little sexy moments are suddenly so tame. What happened to all the lust and longing? A PG rating would fit for both Harry and Charlotte, and Carrie and Aiden. Dull and stilted are two words that come to mind.
AND LIKE THAT…is headed for a rude awakening. I don’t want to watch five minutes of a very intense birthday party. It’s not comfortable viewing, and those who have family dealing with mental illness problems don’t need the reminder. AJLT, please stop and don’t return for another season. Gosh, I miss Samantha.
AND JUST LIKE THAT… is streaming on MAX.
