ADAM SANDLER, LOVE YOU is just what his fans need and want. It is the perfect Sandler blend of stand-up comedy, joke-telling, guitar playing, silly schtick, and crazy made-up songs – a Sandler smorgasbord.
This special filmed more than enough material to whittle into a 70-minute special. They even built their comedy club to look like a dive bar in New York. It was recorded in Los Angeles. Every technical disaster, except a free-roaming dog, was thought of beforehand, which was hilarious. I laughed out loud about the balloon, a pink dick, and the Webster dictionary.
Sander’s humor was filled with F-bombs built alongside deep sadness at times. He drew empathy from the depths of our hearts while we chuckled at his giggling delivery. And holy cow, Sandler can play those guitars. He could easily do a sold-out classical concert.
My favorite moment was the final comedy montage at the show’s end. Sandler nailed it. It was intelligent, clever, and so true. “You can stay funny forever.” ADAM SANDLER: LOVE YOU, proved that point over and over.
