ZERO DAY SERIES REVIEW ๐Ÿ˜Š

ZERO DAY is a political spy-thriller that tries to cross the great abyss filled with cyber-attacks and conspiracy theories. There could be some authenticity and truth within the story, except for an American woman president and a former president with morals and values. I guess, in all honesty, this series might be edging into a fantasy genre.ย

Robert De Niro played an excellent past president who was a by-the-constitutional kind of guy. There were many skeletons in his closet that made the filmโ€™s plot interesting but still filled with huge plotholes. De Niro played De Niro. His performance was stiff and even awkward at times. He was surrounded by an outstanding ensemble, which included Connie Britton, Angela Bassett, Joan Allen, Lizzy Kaplan, and Jesse Plemons.ย

The writing was very linear, taking viewers from point A to B. There were few surprises. Audiences will wish for more since there are no limitations when it comes to fanatical groups. It was all very plausible, but the film felt plodding every step of the way. Six episodes were more than enough of this limited series.ย

ZERO DAY was a bit of a creative waste with the theme and caliber of talent. It made me realize what could happen within our country if both sides donโ€™t come together and decide โ€œthe truth is the truth.โ€

ZERO DAY is streaming on NETFLIX.
