YOUR FRIENDS AND NEIGHBORS hit rock bottom for Coop (John Hamm). It’s funny, but I don’t have any empathy for these characters. They reap what they sow, and so far, they have balanced their scales in the deficit column. It is not pretty to watch, and still impossible to turn away.
The writers are building a case about the struggles within the very rich communities and those who are their employees. It is a huge crack in our society, especially if America is not where you were born. The rift seems to expand each week. This feels unsolvable. It might be easier to live within Coop’s hallucinations and dreams, otherwise using dirt on everyone might be the only way out.
YOUR FRIENDS AND NEIGHBORS felt like a filler until the end, when reality hit. All I can say is Coop is one cool dude.
