YOUR FRIENDS AND NEIGHBORS is upping its ante for Coop and Barney (John Hamm and Hoon Lee). Every day life is coming down hard on these wealthy men. The phrase, make good choices, is falling on deaf ears.
The writers do not allow much empathy in their story content. I believe this is why viewers cannot stop watching the ensemble’s demise. If the acting weren’t on such a high caliber, no one would care or be tuning in to each episode. What they have going for the series is a drowning scenario, and nothing, not even the “luxurious Luxos toilet can bring them all comfort, joy, and a steady cash flow.
Hamm and Lee were outstanding in THIS TOURIST HAS BALLS. Their subtle, impactful facial expressions said it all down to the final frame. YOUR FRIENDS AND NEIGHBORS is only halfway through their first season. How far down the rabbit hole are we being led?
