THIS IS US S6E13 DAY OF THE WEDDING 🤩

“I get this moment with you

Forever now,

It hits me at once,

Forever now.

If there’s a right way to say it,

I’m still learning how.

All that we have is a forever now.”

THIS IS US took my heart again this week with an extremely emotional, fun, uplifting, and very sad episode. It continues the story of Kate (Chrissy Metz) and Phillip (Chris Geere) on their roller-coaster wedding day.

The moments that seared my soul was the juxtaposition of that special day next to Rebecca (Mandy Moore) and Jack (Milo Ventimiglia) dealing with the sameness of their everyday life. It emphasized the importance of “routines” throughout our lives. Being spontaneous now and again can show “surprising things can still happen.”

THIS IS US time-traveled further into the future. Alzheimer’s is an insidious disease that ravages not only the patient but also the entire family. Caregivers need support and moments of normalcy. It is a tough time for all. Kudos to Mandy and Miguel (Jon Huertas.) The writers nailed it. The actors left me emotionally drained and in tears.

This installment also shared light moments from Beth (Susan Kelechi) and Madison (Caitlin Thompson.) I thoroughly enjoyed their sleuthing skills. Give these two a spin-off. We needed them, along with the obvious love between Kate and Phillip.

THIS IS US is speeding to the finale. There is no slowing down. (Sorry, Randall (Sterling K. Brown) Sometimes, all we can do in this second is “just dance.”

THIS IS US is available to stream on NBC/Hulu/Peacock.
