Hands down the best Treehouse of Horror in the over 30-year history of the show! Treehouse of Horror V features three all-time classic stories that have never stopped being goddamn hilarious. By order from very funny to funniest, here are the stories:
Time and Punishment: This is an incredibly funny segment where Homer inadvertently stuffs his hand in a toaster and winds up creating a time machine. He keeps creating alternate universes because of the butterfly effect, resulting in some sick and hilarious moments like a Flanders-dictatorship, an ironic world of wealth that Homer leaves right before donuts rain from the sky, and a “disturbing” universe where James Earl Jones voices Maggie! Even if it’s the least of the three stories, it’s one of the most classic Treehouse of Horror segments ever!
Nightmare Cafeteria: This may be one of the most disturbing Treehouse stories in the show’s history. It is a twisted version of Soylent Green, where the Springfield Elementary faculty decide to eat the children! Highlights include Skinner’s “gut feeling” about “Uter-braten,” the joys of cooking Millhouse, and a disturbing fall into a meat grinder. It is just as scary as it is funny!
The Shinning: Is literally the best Treehouse of Horror segment of all time. From Homer’s butchering of the “Here’s Johnny” moment to leaving Grandpa Simpson at the gas station, there’s no moment in this story where you’re not laughing. All you have to know is No T.V. and No Beer Make Homer something something…
It’s available to stream on Disney+.
