THE RAINMAKER is a reimagined series based upon the 1995 best-selling novel by John Grisham. I read this book quickly back in the day. It was exciting and highly compelling. This current interpretation is taking its sweet time before getting to the good stuff. I hope it will stick around. Three episodes premiered. There is a long way to go.
I think the problem lies in casting Milo Callaghan as Rudy Baylor. In my imaginative mind, he is not projecting enough passion and angst. His facial expressions are perhaps too bland for my taste. I want and expect more, especially when around Sarah (Madison Iseman) and Leo (John Slattery). No one can resist being inspired by Grisham’s electrifying characters.
THE RAINMAKER is just getting warmed up. I hope. Bring it on, and I will become a huge fan all over again.
