THE PITT is one of the best dramatic, realistic, medical series on television today. It began its second shift reuniting the incredible ensemble with a a holiday weekend known for trauma and explosive events. The set-up and sizzling, slow burn has been brilliantly put in place., All the players necessary for what fans know is coming have been gathered. Every movement, line, silent breaths, and heavy sighs are intentional. I have no doubt we are all in for a very bumpy ride.
THE PITT pushes the boundaries intellectually and purposefully using “giant balls of disrespect.” Thank goodness a safe word two has been granted. I just hope I remember it while viewing the buckets of spouting blood and inner organs that should never see the light of day. It’s just another shift at the Pittsburgh Trauma Center. Kudos to the writers, directors, editors, actors, and crews for delivering such a sharp, honest behind-the- curtain look at emergency hospitals. It is breath-taking, solemn, inspiring work.
I realize that I am gushing. It is impossible not to when viewing THE PITT. Dear readers, don’t be left behind. It is simply that good. Noah Wyle and creator, R. Scott Gemmill, demands our undivided attention for every hour. It is streaming on HBO MAX.
