THE PITT keeps on being as realistic as possible in every sequence. It is hypnotic to watch this beleaguered band of doctors and nurses face death-defying moments at every turn. At times, I forget they are actors. I constantly feel thrown into their pit of medical bombardment. The writing is superb, and the fantastic acting is subtle and raw.
What blows me away is the variety of cases dealt with at the snap of your fingers. Everything rests on split-second timing, from tackling abortion in this day and age to having a hidden artery vein pop out, spurting blood over an unsuspecting intern. It is harrowing, dirty work as the young intern must change his scrubs for the fourth or fifth time. I have lost count, and it is only HOUR 5 of their long shift. Through it all, gaining the trust of their patients is paramount. It is all very impressive, indeed.
THE PITT is inspiring, electrifying entertainment that reinforces the men and women who get up and do this work every day.
