THE MOVIES THAT MADE US is an informative and amusing look at eight massive film hits over the past few decades. Each episode delves deeply into one movie at a time. It includes: PRETTY WOMAN, JURASSIC PARK, FOREST GUMP, DIRTY DANCING, BACK TO THE FUTURE, HOME ALONE, GHOSTBUSTERS and DIE HARD.

These movies were some of the most influential. They changed how action, sci-fi, romance, and dancing scenes could and should be created. All of them had one thing in common. The studio pulled the plug and stopped production for each film at one point or another. It truly is a testament that the producers and writers persevered. And oh, so many title changes and casting choices. Did you know that PRETTY WOMAN was going to be called 3000? Or that GHOSTBUSTERS might have been titled GHOST BREAKERS? There were many fabulous tidbits of behind-the-scenes gossip shared.

THE MOVIES THAT MADE US is filled with the actors and production teams from each film. They were honest about how it all began, the journey, and revisited major scene locations. If you are a movie buff, this series will totally delight and entertain. It reminds all of us how important the art of filmmaking is to our well-being. It provides the chance to be swept away from real life and just dream and believe.

THE MOVIES THAT MADE US is available to stream on Netflix.
