After one of the worst episodes of THE MORNING SHOW’s third season (LOVE ISLAND), the series kind of returns for E6 The Stanford Student. And I say kind of because Alex’s (Jennifer Anniston) and Paul’s (Jon Hamm) story was “breaking news” worthy. Whereas the story with Bradley’s Brother, Hal, continues to be the worst plot in this cluttered TV series.
But first, let’s dive into Alex and Paul. THE MORNING SHOW once again did what it does best: had the actors playing news anchors. And the exchanges between Alex and Paul are dynamic and worthy of your time.
I would’ve preferred to spend the entire episode with these two instead of cutting back to Bradley (Reese Witherspoon) and Hal (Joe Tippett). I’ll quote Eli from last week: “For the record, I have HATED all storylines involving Bradley’s brother. Everything involving him is always extrapolatory, and this s*** is now the prime example.” Well, this sh** continues into E6 and is frusThisa focal point.
THE MORNING SHOW is like an NBA Superteam. It looks good on paper, but the execution doesn’t propel it to becoming championship (award) caliber.
It’s available to stream on Apple TV+.
