The journey in the FORCE AWAKENS FROM ITS NAP is a near-perfect STAR WARS day crossover. In the third Maggie Simpson short, it’s becoming clear that she’s becoming an animated version of Buster Keaton.

Despite this being a cash grab for “May the 4th” IP (intellectual property) crossover, it works due to the artists’ fandom love for STAR WARS. In just a mere three minutes, there are fun action sequences that are staged more gracefully than anything from the STAR WARS prequels. And the visual sight gags are plentiful! Audiences will enjoy repeat viewings to try and catch them all.

While the ending is tied up in (Maggie’s) bow too neatly, I will gladly welcome more SIMPSONS stories set “A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away.”

It’s available today on Disney+.
