THE FIRST LADY S1E7 NADIR 😊

THE FIRST LADY shared growing pains as Betty Ford (Michelle Pfeiffer), Eleanor Rosevelt (Gillian Anderson), and Michelle Obama (Viola Davis) had to deal with heartbreaking issues. Watching these women maneuver through racial inequality, campaign woes, and the Sandy Hook tragedy gave new meaning to inspirational moments of strength.

This limited series is quirky. It fills in blank bits of history that you hope are honest and truthful. The acting is superb. The writing does not pull any punches. My only complaint is the blunt editing from decade to decade, but I do enjoy the mix of reality meshed with a little piece of fantasy. It is an interesting show for history buffs.

This week on THE FIRST LADY did not move the plot forward. It did, however, highlight the courage these ladies exemplified for our country. It is available to stream on SHOWTIME.
