Resembling something closer to SHREK 2 or the MADAGASCAR sequels than the first film, THE CROODS: A NEW AGE lacks the heart of its predecessor, and is a lot more obnoxious. However, overall, it’s still a pretty funny, colorful, and entertaining farce with excellent vocal performances (especially newcomer Kelly Marie Tran and her chemistry with Emma Stone), that manages to further explore its characters and their relationships, and evolve them into, well, a new age.
Also the Thunder Sisters sequence is the most metal thing you’ll see on screen all year!
