I was hooked after watching the Bridgerton TV series. I then had to read the matching first volume by Julia Quinn. It was not enough to satisfy my curiosity and steaming passion for this romantic, sexy, bodice-ripping series. All I can say is…hot, hot, hot!
There are eight children in the Bridgerton family. Each volume of the series of books is devoted to one child and how he or she found the love of their life. Each book is self-contained, so you can begin anywhere, but I found it most enjoyable to read them in the order they were intended.
If you be are looking for a book with an intricate plotline, the BRIDGERTON SERIES is not for you. Each book basically details boy meets girl, or girl meets boy. There is angst, grand balls, walks in the garden, witty, flirty conversations, sexy scenes and tons more angst in between until the happily ever after. There are two epilogues in each book. The second epilogue gives too much away for future reading.
THE BRIDGERTON SERIES is a way to escape our everyday lives. It is fast, light reading that won’t disappoint. It doesn’t solve any of society’s problems, but it will take you away to a different time and place. Sometimes this can help us all face our ordinary lives. Besides, did I mention it is hot? Be sure to keep a fan beside you.
