THE BOYS are digging out of the aftermath of Good vs. Evil. It is truly superhero shit that just keeps on giving repeatedly. The Supe’s world is not what it once was.
The writers decided to give viewers an episode that was not only ‘down on the farm,” but also shared the true mantra for Homelander’s (Antony Starr) lucky seven. He and his son send shivers up and down my spine. I am very nervous about the constant use of the word ‘wrath.’ Superman must be turning over in his grave.
The series also had several explosive and bloody moments. I have never witnessed so many human shortcuts. This was one of those times I was glad I am visually impaired and could not decipher every detail. All I can say is, “Holy, bloody hell.” I am relieved Hughie (Jack Quaud) can do the hard thing. Jar-Jar would be proud.
THE BOYS ended with humor and sarcasm. It helped wipe away the barnyard memories. I will have to turn off my brain next time I sing OLD MACDONALD with my grandson. THE BOYS is streaming on Prime Video.
