THE BIG DOOR PRIZE S1E8 IZZY 🤮

I’ve stuck with THE BIG DOOR PRIZE, hoping it can answer enough narrative debt before the upcoming season finale. However, the show continues to falter with uninteresting characters surrounded by a fascinating plot device (the Morpho Machine). I’ll continue to watch until the end of season one, but if they don’t stick the landing, I plan on “ghosting” next season.

Despite E8 having a magic show, the entire episode… lacks magic. Instead, we get the continued beef between Gorgio and Dusty and the conflict between Cass and Izzy, with minimal resolution. Even more painful, this series has become dreadfully dull. In the overpopulated TV landscape, shows have to be more than their plot device, and THE BIG DOOR PRIZE, sadly, is not.

At this stage in the game, THE BIG DOOR PRIZE is a “glorified backup dancer” to the much better content available to stream on Apple TV+.
